Mental Health Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist to join our team at New Paths Inc. as a Behavioral Health Specialist. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality counseling and therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning
Conduct thorough assessments of individuals' substance use/chemical dependency/mental health, physical, and psychosocial status to develop effective treatment plans.
Counseling and TherapyProvide individual and group counseling sessions to individuals, focusing on their treatment goals and progress.
Documentation and Record-KeepingMaintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Education and TrainingDevelop and implement educational programs for individuals, families, and healthcare providers on substance use disorder and mental health topics.
Professional DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain licensure and certification, as well as stay current with best practices in the field.
Team CollaborationWork collaboratively with other clinical staff, including Recovery Coaches and Program Managers, to create a supportive and therapeutic environment for clients.
Requirements- Education and Licensure
Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling, with a preference for Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) certification.
Experience and SkillsAt least one year of experience in a clinical setting, with a strong understanding of substance use disorder and mental health treatment principles.
Registration and CertificationRegistered Development Plan with MCBAP, CADC, or CAADC certification, with the ability to maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Computer SkillsBasic computer skills, with the ability to thoroughly document client interactions and treatment plans.
Working ConditionsThis position requires light physical effort, with frequent interactions with individuals, families, and referral sources. Duties are conducted in a professional office setting, with occasional travel required.
