Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Clinical Coordinator Intake is responsible for conducting biopsychosocial assessments and various clinical evaluations both in-office and within the community. This role involves:

  • Consulting with multiple agencies regarding program-related matters.
  • Assessing clinical needs and recommending appropriate support services and treatment options.
  • Performing professional therapeutic crisis interventions.
  • Possibly providing short-term evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Leading clinical team meetings for high-risk cases.
  • Collaborating with internal and external program staff to facilitate treatment recommendations.
  • Serving as a resource for staff and offering mental health education services to community agencies.
Qualifications

Educational Background:

Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling.

Licensure:

Must possess a Michigan Master's Level Social Worker (LMSW) credential or be a candidate with a Limited License (LLMSW). Alternatively, a Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Limited License as a Counselor (LLC) is acceptable.

Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges, severe emotional disturbances, or developmental disabilities is required.

Examination:

Employees with a Limited License must successfully complete the ASWB Examination or the National Counselor Examination (NCE) within six (6) years to maintain employment.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Michigan driver's license, possess current automobile insurance, and have access to a vehicle during work hours. The ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role is essential. Maintaining valid licensure is a condition of employment, along with obtaining and retaining MDHHS qualifications as a Child Mental Health Professional.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with both adults and children with mental health issues or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Candidates with experience in publicly funded Michigan Community Mental Health agencies and those with credentials or eligibility for credentialing through the Michigan Certified Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomat (CCDP-D) are preferred.

Veterans must submit Form DD214 to verify eligibility for Veterans' Preference.
