About the Role

Rénk, a leading supplier in the defense, marine, and industry sectors, is seeking a skilled Trade Compliance Specialist to oversee compliance with import and export regulations. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all trade activities align with legal and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Export Authorization: Prepare export authorizations in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives, including program and contract authorizations, employment of foreign persons, manufacturing abroad, sourcing, and development relationships with foreign entities.
  • Technical Exports: Manage technical exports for business stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Export Declaration and HTS Classifications: Manage the export declaration and HTS classifications process, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Export and Import Coordination: Assist in export and import coordination and tracking, ensuring seamless execution of trade activities.
  • Training and Compliance: Conduct training sessions for employees and assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Audits and Compliance: Develop and conduct audits of internal controls and procedures, examining artifacts to ensure compliant transactions.
  • External Audits and Inquiries: Assist in external audits and inquiries from US governmental control agencies, such as Customs, DoS, and DoC, through data gathering and corrective action execution.
  • Export Guidance: Provide general export guidance on regulatory requirements to stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Import and Export Activities: Coordinate import and export activities with Customs Broker, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience; or Associates Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Substitution of Education and Experience: Substitution of additional relevant education and experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
Preferred Skills
  • MS Office Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, with ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Collaboration and Mentoring: Ability to collaborate and mentor team members, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Understand risk mitigation, OCR EASE, DECCS, SNAP-R, and other relevant compliance frameworks.
