Job Summary

The Trade Compliance Specialist II will oversee compliance with import and export regulations, ensuring that all trade activities align with legal and company requirements. This role involves preparing export authorizations in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives such as program and contract authorizations, employment of foreign persons, manufacturing abroad as well as sourcing and development relationships with foreign entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Export Compliance: Prepares Trade Compliance licenses and agreements in accordance with federal regulations to support international business initiatives, including employment of foreign persons, manufacturing abroad, sourcing and development relationships with foreign entities.
  • Technical Exports: Manages technical exports for business stakeholders.
  • Export Declaration: Manages export declaration and HTS classifications process.
  • Import and Export Coordination: Assists in export and import coordination and tracking.
  • Training and Development: Conducts training sessions for employees and assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Government Relations: Establishes and maintains relations with government licensing authorities to ensure the company's position on licensing and technology is conveyed, understood and accepted.
  • Audits and Compliance: Develops and conducts audits of internal controls and procedures by examining artifacts to ensure compliant transactions.
  • External Audits: Assists in external audits and inquiries from US governmental control agencies such as Customs, DoS and DoC through data gathering and corrective action execution.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Provides general export guidance on regulatory requirements to stakeholders.
  • Import and Export Activities: Coordinates import and export activities with Customs Broker.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience; or Associates Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Substitution: Substitution of additional relevant education and experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
Preferred Skills
  • MS Office: Proficient in MS Office.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Ability to collaborate and mentor.
  • Risk Mitigation: Understand risk mitigation, OCR EASE, DECCS, SNAP-R.
