Navan Group is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee our Corporate General Ledger team.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), corporate policies, and external audit requirements.

This individual will play a pivotal role in the company's month-end closing activities and the preparation of reports that support the financial statements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical and analytical accounting capabilities, a collaborative mindset, and the agility to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.

This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting and will lead a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a robust technical understanding of US GAAP principles and adopt a hands-on approach to financial details.
  • Oversee the monthly closing process, including the review of journal entries and fluctuations.
  • Review and/or prepare month-end account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of supporting documentation.
  • Manage ASC 842 accounting schedules.
  • Review and manage capitalized implementation costs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders in the accounting close process, including international accounting teams, FP&A, Revenue, Tax, and non-accounting departments, to ensure smooth execution of closing activities.
  • Assist in the review and preparation of financial statement footnotes.
  • Support financial reviews and audits throughout the year, including managing PBC lists and driving internal deliverable requests.
  • Perform SOX internal controls over assigned areas.
  • Provide training and guidance to accounting and finance team members as necessary.
  • Identify issues, research, reconcile discrepancies, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Proactively engage in initiatives to enhance operational accounting efficiencies through system and process improvements and control enhancements.
  • Handle other ad hoc projects and financial reporting as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a Big 4 or professional services firm.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Floqast, MS Office, and GSuite is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (US GAAP), and internal controls.
  • Experience managing the month-end close and quarterly footnote preparation/review.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with accounting trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff management, coaching, and team building.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and messaging abilities.
