Electrical Controls Specialist

As a Controls Engineer at Precision Castparts Corp, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and enhancement of process control systems within an industrial manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including engineering electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems, performing PLC/HMI hardware/software design and programming, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and troubleshoot process control systems.
Engineer, design, and test electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems associated with industrial manufacturing plants.
PLC/HMI hardware/software design, programming, and troubleshooting.
Develop and engineer electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic.
Design and implement process network infrastructure (Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net, etc.).
Interface and communicate with vendors, process engineering, installation contractors, and project management.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic, programming methods, and process-related control systems.
Ability to design/enhance HMI to examine complex electrical problems, identify source of problems, determine method for repair; plan and organize work; complete complex electrical tasks by using and understanding Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic drawings and specifications of automation (PLC) and electrical system design, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of applicable Electrical Code.
Ability to operate various power, voltage, and current measurement equipment via test instruments and hand tools.
Employee schedules vary based on each project and may require irregular or extended hours.
Able to communicate effectively with employees in a professional and friendly manner.
Able to work independently as a productive member of a team.
Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
5 to 8 years of experience in the electrical and controls engineering field.
Demonstrated Control Systems competency.
Well-versed in Microsoft Office programs.
SQL Database knowledge preferred.
