Electrical Controls Specialist Job Description

At California's Great America, we're seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, modifying, and upgrading ride control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and evaluate rides for proper function and detect any electronic/electrical malfunctions or irregularities.
  • Order parts as needed for maintaining ride control systems and ensure rides are maintained according to manufacturer, Cedar Fair, and state guidelines.
  • Make suggestions on improving or retrofitting existing ride control systems and coordinate activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
  • Maintain working copy of existing control system software and keep up-to-date with newer versions.
  • Coordinate and perform annual preventative maintenance of ride control systems and maintain documentation of ride control systems.
  • Assist in other areas where control expertise is required and attend workshops, trainings, meetings, etc. to maintain skills and stay abreast of industry trends, products, and resources.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree (2 year college) in Electrical/Electronic repair and maintenance.
  • Requires 4-6 years of electrical controls experience, including at least 2 years working on similar electrical and electronic controls.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Valid driver's license.
