Job Summary

The Patient Access Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the flow of patient registration, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient information, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process patient registration, verifying patient information and processing payments in a fast-paced environment
  • Efficiently gather and document patient demographics and third-party information with a high degree of accuracy
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the registration process, maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism
  • Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, Patient's Rights and Responsibilities, HMO's, PPO's, Commercial Payors, and department/system policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and co-workers to establish and enhance positive relationships
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, patient access operations, or a related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • National Association of Healthcare Access Management CHAA Certification preferred
