Position Overview

The Texas AFT is in search of a Member Resolution Specialist dedicated to addressing member inquiries and grievances within our organization and its affiliates. This role requires a commitment to member engagement and may involve travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recognizing organizing prospects through member feedback
  • Connecting with potential union supporters
  • Addressing member questions and concerns
  • Utilizing the EMMA data management system
  • Keeping accurate member records
  • Assisting in the preparation of rebuttal communications
  • Advocating for members during hearings
  • Facilitating dispute resolutions
  • Conducting informational meetings
  • Providing support to affiliates in organizing efforts
  • Carrying out additional assigned responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
  • Understanding of educational laws and regulations
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting technologies
  • Ability to build rapport with members
  • Demonstrated sound judgment
  • Excellent organizational and self-management skills
  • Capability to efficiently manage resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, smart sheets, and Zoom
