Job Summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Radar Systems Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the scientific design and computational analysis of radars, missile seekers, and aircraft sensors.

The selected individual will work closely with a highly technical team of engineers to design and implement firmware and software for RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators. This challenging position requires a diverse set of technical and task management skills and allows for the opportunity to contribute immediately to important, meaningful work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement firmware and software for RF SIL and HWIL simulators
  • Work with a highly technical team of engineers to develop and test radar systems
  • Contribute to the development of technical solutions for complex radar systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other closely related field
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of radar, digital signal processing (DSP), and/or RF communication theory
  • C/C++ coding experience/abilities with understanding of object-oriented software principles
  • Technical leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other closely related field
  • Working knowledge of ELINT and/or SIGINT
  • Experience with RFSoC / VHDL / FPGA design practices and tools
