The OpportunityBrooklyn Justice Initiatives (BJI), our largest operating project, seeks to transform the experience of criminal court in Brooklyn, New York. We provide judges and attorneys with meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences.
Responsibilities- Support case conferences between Case Managers and Intake Specialists
- Manage the team's shared calendar and prepare weekly schedules for intake rotation
- Facilitate training planning, including ordering lunches and setting up trainings
- Assist in writing policies and procedures for the team
- Help troubleshoot ways to streamline and synchronize information for the team and messaging
- Support creating a robust resource guide for Mandatory Programming and beyond
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Interest in working with communities and/or service
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of stakeholders
- Highly organized, excellent communication skills, and strong writing ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites, and ability to use Skype for Business
- Living allowance of $1,500 and an educational award of $1,565.08 upon successful completion
- Skills-based and professional development training
- Access to services like 24/7 telephonic counseling, medical advocacy, and financial assistance
