Directs the collaborative efforts of facility engineers to ensure effective preventative maintenance and repair services for facility systems (e.g., central plant operations, building management systems, safety protocols).

Guides teams in addressing intricate, long-term repair requests and troubleshooting of facility systems. Monitors and records scheduled preventative maintenance to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards.

Develops processes for the entire team to ensure that facility systems meet safety inspections and checks in line with safety control programs (e.g., infection control, Material Safety Data Sheets [MSDSs], chemical safety, fire safety, Emergency Care Research Institute [ERCI] alerts, and The Joint Commission (TJC) related programs, along with all local regulatory standards).

Contributes to overarching program goals for maintenance and repairs conducted. Leads the team in managing vendor relationships to identify enhancements for services beyond the scope of the Facility Engineering team.

Ensures compliance with regulatory standards for preventative maintenance by: providing guidance on complex safety and maintenance initiatives; monitoring and documenting the progress of teams performing preventative maintenance (PM); leading coordination efforts with external resources as appropriate to ensure compliance with regulatory standards; and overseeing resource allocation.

Plans, coordinates, and supervises long-term equipment maintenance (e.g.

, central plant operations, building management systems, safety protocols) by:

driving teams' responses to complex, long-term maintenance requests; ensuring teams have necessary external resources for various repairs, including intricate repairs with long-term implications; and providing guidance and coordination across organizational lines.


Promotes a safe environment by:

motivating individuals to complete safety tasks, including inspecting the safety of equipment and/or facilities; participating in safety control programs to build on in-depth knowledge in one or more specialty areas (e.g., infection control, Safety Data Sheets [SDSs], chemical safety, fire safety, Emergency Care Research Institute [ERCI] alerts, The Joint Commission [TJC] related programs, and other hospital-related regulatory agencies); and establishing processes for the entire team while ensuring proper documentation in the centralized maintenance management system while preparing the team for future safety needs.

Contributes to vendor relationship management by: continuously assessing current operational processes while driving the team to manage vendors, including vendor evaluation, performance analytics, and relationships to highlight trends and identify impactful process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness of vendor management; and guiding the management team to improve the efficiency of vendor maintenance/service and reduce reliance on vendors through education and training.


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical disciplines in Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related field AND a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Engineering, Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or a directly related field OR a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Engineering, Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or a directly related field.

Valid Driver's License (in location where applicable)
