Job Summary

The University of Southern California is seeking a skilled Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Facilities Planning and Management. This is a critical role that requires technical expertise and leadership skills to support the department's programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for all department programs, including project operations and activities such as assessment, design, plan, schedule, budget, and scope of services.
  • Identify strategies to ensure delivery of quality services with available resources.
  • Provide technical expertise, support, and management to FPM as it relates to utility infrastructure and environmental compliance.
  • Interpret federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance with existing regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, with combined education/experience as a substitute for minimum education.
  • 3 years of experience in mechanical design and operation, with combined education/experience as a substitute for minimum experience.
  • Directly related education and project management experience with increasing leadership/management responsibility in mechanical systems and/or planning.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) in the state of California.
  • Project Administration with progressive leadership/management within a college or university environment.
