Senior Operations Manager

Alstom is seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our commuter rail operations in Southern California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the performance of our contractors, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time rail service.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to our Key Management Personnel, Assistant General Managers, and other staff members.
- Contract Management: Serve as the primary liaison with our contractors, ensuring compliance with agreements and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Operational Excellence: Manage and direct the bundled contract commuter operations, ensuring safe and efficient rail service in a complex multi-line environment.
- Customer Experience: Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring that our passengers receive exceptional service and experience.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and other relevant regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 20 years of progressively responsible experience in railroad operations, maintenance, engineering, contract, and project management, with at least 5 years in a Senior Management/Leadership capacity.
- Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent management and leadership skills, ability to make presentations to senior leadership and governing boards, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Physical Demands: Ability to conduct inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Alstom offers a competitive salary range of $154,000 to $211,750, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for Railroad Retirement benefits. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome diverse candidates.
