Procurement Strategic Lead

This role oversees the procurement process and ensures MCNC is strategically positioned for growth. Nurturing relationships with suppliers, effectively managing supply costs and optimizing workflows are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Management
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Cost Management
- Implement strategies to reduce purchasing costs, including bulk purchases, strategic sourcing, and long-term agreements.
- Regularly assess market prices to ensure competitive pricing.
- Process Optimization
- Continuously monitor and implement procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Maximize use of current ERP system and identify other complementary applications to enhance efficiency.
- Team Management
- Provide leadership and cultivate growth opportunities for one purchasing clerk.
- Reporting
- Develop and track key performance indicators related to cost savings and supplier performance.
- Prepare and regularly report on purchasing activities, including spend analysis, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels without over/under stocking.
- Ensure timely delivery of critical materials to prevent delays in service deployment.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure grant-related purchases comply with federal, state, and private procurement regulations.
- Monitor and manage risks in the supply chain.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet required technical specifications and performance standards.
- Regularly assess supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive responsibility in purchasing, supply chain, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field is required.
- Minimum three years' experience in the broadband or telecommunication industry.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Experience developing and executing procurement strategies that lead to cost savings, efficiency, and effective sourcing.
- Experience managing budgets and conducting complex analyses to support decisions.
- Experience with Netsuite.
- Experience working with federal grants.
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
