Clinical Pathology Assistant

Position Overview:
This Clinical Pathology Assistant role is focused on the thorough examination and dictation of tissue samples, operating autonomously under the supervision of a Pathologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately submit and dictate all surgical specimens for processing.
- Ensure the cutting room is adequately stocked and maintained.
- Document specimens through photography as instructed by the pathologist.
- Prepare tissue samples for external testing, including lymphoma phenotyping and quantitative iron studies.
Additional Duties:
- Stay updated with procedural manuals and implement any changes as necessary.
- Engage in continuous education under the guidance of a pathologist.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures as outlined in the manuals.
Work Schedule: M-F 2pm-10pm

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pathologist Assistant required.
- Bachelor's degree in Pathologist Assistance.
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathologist Assistant.
OR
Must comply with CLIA regulations for grandfathered individuals.
- Must maintain relevant continuing education for certification/licensure to enhance knowledge.
