Job Summary

Wood plc is seeking a skilled Compressor Operator to join our team in a production facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our compressor and booster stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all operations sites are maintained in a safe and secure manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, repairs, and replacements of compressors as needed to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Compressor Management: Start and stop compressors as required, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Participate in daily communication with operators, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and problem-solving.
  • Work Permits and Compliance: Write, review, and oversee assigned work permits associated with construction or maintenance in operating areas, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Development: Become qualified and maintain qualification in assigned DOT pipeline and control room competencies, as well as cross-train throughout the asset area and participate in hands-on training in field operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all applicable company procedures and policies, as well as state and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Independent Operation: Operate independently or from the Operations Control Center, monitoring field volumes, rates, levels, and alarms to make adjustments or provide guidance to field personnel.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Be an active participant in our Health, Safety, and Environmental culture, adhering to company values and principles.
Requirements
  • Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on compressor operations.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, as well as oil and gas operations (Amine and Glycol systems, compression, pipelines, measurement, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Cygnet (or other SCADA system), and IMaps (or Google Maps) is preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Good time management, communication, and people skills, with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively across cross-functional groups.
