Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the Vice President of Operations will oversee Reagent Manufacturing, Chip Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, scale, and manage internal operations for reagent and chip manufacturing.
  • Act as the primary accountability point for all aspects related to product manufacturing and distribution, including production planning, inventory management, fulfillment, logistics, issue resolution, and change implementation.
  • Direct operational oversight of the comprehensive supply chain networks that facilitate the commercialization of products, integrating both existing contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and new suppliers.
  • Conduct sales and operations planning for a complex, vertically integrated supply chain, incorporating a multi-tiered inventory optimization strategy.
  • Lead and enhance the daily operational mechanisms of the Operations organization, including all internal and external cross-functional meetings and processes.
  • Formulate and implement a supply chain and manufacturing strategy aimed at achieving substantial improvements in customer satisfaction, gross margins, and inventory turnover.
  • Supervise contract manufacturing partners for instrument production and semiconductor chip fabrication.
  • Manage customer order fulfillment processes.
  • Implement a comprehensive purchasing system for the company.
  • Conduct business reviews and monitor supply chain performance metrics.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational and economic performance enhancements.
  • Support the development and execution of commercial distribution plans and return strategies.
  • Oversee the operations organization budget, ensuring efficient resource deployment while maintaining control over expenses and cash flow.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline; production processes are highly technical.
  • Over 10 years of operations experience is required.
  • Prior direct management experience in production and supply chain is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of manufacturing and supply chain professionals as the business scales.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a startup environment with minimal processes and infrastructure in place.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and action-driven.
  • Ability to collaborate with key functional business leaders to refine the design and execution of forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Strong understanding of international logistics and trade compliance.
  • High-energy leader with creativity, objectivity, and impeccable integrity.

The estimated base salary range for this role in the United States is: $270,000 - $320,000. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including position level, individual skills, knowledge, abilities, location, internal equity, and market data alignment. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus program and equity as part of their compensation package.
