Job Purpose:

The Senior Vice President of Facility Operations is a key leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the physical assets of Shelby American Inc., which includes overseeing facilities, vehicles, and equipment.

The organization currently manages several affordable housing units and a wellness center, with plans for additional housing developments in the near future.

This role is crucial in furthering our mission by ensuring the effective management and maintenance of all physical resources.

The Senior Vice President will be tasked with creating and executing a comprehensive facilities management strategy, implementing preventative maintenance protocols, leading the facilities team, and collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Facilities and Asset Management:


Develop and oversee a strategic plan for facility and asset management, ensuring all resources are effectively tracked and maintained.

Create and implement a preventative maintenance strategy for all facilities and equipment to enhance longevity and performance.
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards in facilities management.

Property Management Oversight:
Supervise property management operations and maintenance activities conducted by external management firms.
Ensure timely completion of repairs, unit turnovers, and routine maintenance tasks.
Oversee the performance of external contractors as needed.
Collaborate with the facilities team to manage renovations and improvements.

Set clear expectations for property management teams to deliver high-quality services to residents.

Monitor property management performance and implement strategies for improvement.

Team Leadership:
Lead and develop the facilities team, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Collaboration:
Work closely with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Budget and Financial Management:
Collaborate with finance teams to develop budgets and manage costs for property maintenance and improvements.
Monitor expenditures to ensure resource management is cost-effective.

Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present regular reports on asset management activities and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
Conduct analyses to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facilities management or asset management, ideally within a nonprofit context.

Demonstrated experience in developing and executing asset management plans.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams.
Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, with travel to various properties as required. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet organizational needs.

Salary:
$115,000/year
