Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to join our team at our Santa Ana Thrift Store. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and ensuring the store operates efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for managing sales and income budgets, controlling expenses, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve sales and customer service goals
    • Recruit, train, and develop sales associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to sales associates
  • Store Operations
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, and inventory management
    • Ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing, with merchandise displayed in a way that maximizes sales
    • Manage the donation process, including receiving, processing, and pricing donations
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service and increase sales
    • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Financial Management
    • Manage the store's budget, including sales and income targets, expenses, and profitability
    • Monitor and control expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and supplies
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
  • Security and Safety
    • Ensure the store is secure and safe for customers and employees
    • Develop and implement strategies to prevent theft and loss
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a thrift store environment
  • Skills
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office
  • Certifications
    • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required
    • Must pass background check, which will include criminal history and sex offender registry
Working Conditions

The Store Manager will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent interactions with customers, employees, and donors. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Store Manager will also be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

The Store Manager will be paid $19.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth within the organization.
