Director of Educational Equity Initiatives

At the LAWYERS' COMMITTEE FOR CIVIL RIGHTS UNDER LAW, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director to lead our Education Opportunities Project (EOP). The EOP plays a vital role in promoting racial justice by ensuring access to equal and respectful treatment and equitable educational opportunities for Black communities and other communities of color. As the Director, you will oversee all aspects of the project's litigation and programs, developing and implementing an integrated strategy that utilizes impact litigation, public policy advocacy, innovative programs and initiatives, and public education to promote racial justice and educational equity.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to racial justice, cultural competency, and experience working with underserved and marginalized communities. You will lead a team of litigators, program managers, senior coordinators, and legal fellows, reporting directly to the Chief Counsel. Your responsibilities will include managing the project's litigation docket, supervising staff, leading litigation efforts, identifying priorities, translating strategic goals into realistic plans, serving as a thought leader, representing the organization, coordinating with coalition partners, and developing and managing the project's budget.
