Position Overview:
An Oncologist is a medical professional specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer patients. This role encompasses the development of personalized treatment strategies, overseeing patient care throughout their cancer journey, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Interpretation: Analyze diagnostic tests, including biopsies, imaging studies (MRI, CT scans, X-rays), and blood tests.
- Treatment Planning and Management:
- Formulate tailored treatment plans that may involve surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of these modalities.
- Research and Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology through continuous education and research participation.
- Engage in clinical trials and research initiatives aimed at enhancing cancer treatment and patient outcomes.
- Attend professional conferences and continuing education programs to uphold board certification and licensure.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Oversee and mentor junior medical staff and students.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of residency in internal medicine.
- Completion of a fellowship in oncology.
- Board certification in oncology.
- Valid state medical license.
- Experience in clinical research and trials.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual capabilities, depending on patient demographics.
- Ability to manage the demands of a busy medical practice.
- Salary: Competitive base salary with additional incentive opportunities in hyperbaric medicine, regenerative research, and more.
- Sign-On Bonus: $30,000 upon contract commencement.
- Relocation and Housing Assistance: $20,000 relocation bonus.
- Health Insurance: Employer-sponsored health insurance, including a low-deductible plan through Cigna, along with vision and dental coverage.
- Additional Insurance: Comprehensive employer-sponsored insurance options, including disability, life insurance, cancer coverage, and accident policies.
- Retirement: 8% matched 401(k) plan, along with 6 weeks of PTO, 6 paid holidays, and 7 sick days.
- Continuing Education: $5,000 for educational pursuits, along with 5 days off for training.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Malpractice Coverage: Employer-paid malpractice insurance ($1,000,000 / $3,000,000).
