Position Overview:
An Oncologist is a medical professional focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with cancer. This role requires the development of tailored treatment strategies, overseeing patient care throughout their cancer journey, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Diagnostic Interpretation:
Analyze diagnostic tests, including biopsies, imaging studies (MRI, CT scans, X-rays), and laboratory tests. - Treatment Planning and Management:
- Create personalized treatment plans that may involve surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of these modalities.
- Research and Professional Development:
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in oncology through continuous education and research participation.
- Engage in clinical trials and research initiatives aimed at enhancing cancer treatment and patient care.
- Attend professional conferences and educational courses to maintain certification and licensure.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Guide and mentor junior medical personnel and students.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of residency in internal medicine.
- Completion of a fellowship in oncology.
- Board certification in oncology.
- Valid medical license in the state.
- Experience in clinical research and trials.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual capabilities, depending on patient demographics.
- Ability to manage the demands of a busy medical practice.
- Salary: Competitive base salary with additional incentive opportunities in hyperbaric medicine, regenerative research, and more.
- Sign-On Bonus: $30,000 upon contract commencement.
- Relocation Assistance: $20,000 relocation bonus.
- Health Insurance: Employer-sponsored health insurance, including a low-deductible plan through Cigna, as well as vision and dental coverage.
- Additional Insurance: Comprehensive employer-sponsored insurance options, including disability, life, cancer coverage, and accident policies.
- Retirement Plan: 8% matched 401(k) plan.
- PTO: 6 weeks of paid time off, 6 paid holidays, and 7 sick days.
- Continuing Education: $5,000 for educational expenses and 5 days off for professional development.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Malpractice Coverage: Employer-paid malpractice insurance ($1,000,000 / $3,000,000).
