Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment:

  • Work alongside senior leadership to establish and synchronize business architecture strategies with organizational objectives and SAFe methodologies.
  • Create and sustain the business architecture roadmap, ensuring it aligns with strategic initiatives and the product portfolio.

Portfolio Management:

  • Engage in Portfolio-level activities such as Portfolio Syncs and PI Planning to offer architectural insights and ensure alignment with business architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with Portfolio Management to align portfolio decisions with business architecture standards and principles.

Business Architecture Development:

  • Design and maintain detailed business architecture models, encompassing business capabilities, value streams, and organizational frameworks.
  • Document and articulate the current and future states of business processes and systems.
  • Ensure that architectural documentation is consistent with SAFe and supports a product-centric approach.

Architectural Governance:

  • Establish and uphold governance protocols for business architecture at the portfolio level.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, industry benchmarks, and architectural principles.
  • Monitor and report compliance with architecture standards and guidelines across the portfolio.

Technology Assessment and Implementation:

  • Assess emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the enterprise and recommending strategies for adoption.
  • Provide technical oversight and direction during the deployment of new technologies and systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and product teams to ensure the smooth integration of new solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and IT teams, to gather requirements and drive architectural solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to collect feedback, define requirements, and secure buy-in for architectural modifications.
  • Communicate complex architectural concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancement and innovation.
  • Mentor and guide team members on business architecture practices and SAFe methodologies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in business architecture and SAFe.

Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:

  • Able to collaborate with individuals at all levels and influence others through informal leadership.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and development within the architecture field (e.g., training or architectural certifications such as Certified Business Architect).
  • Experience with strategy-to-execution value streams and applying business architecture across these streams.
  • Ability to view the enterprise holistically and apply system boundaries and business process flows that span those boundaries.
  • Knowledge of the insurance sector.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in business architecture tools and modeling techniques.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SAFe principles.

Certifications:

  • Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is advantageous.
  • SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Architect) is a significant plus.
