Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a Logistics Advisor and Planner. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience, ideally as a retired senior enlisted or enlisted airman, adept at meeting operational goals while adhering to Special Access Program (SAP) security protocols. This role will contribute to a team of dedicated Subject Matter Experts within Air Combat Command's Advanced Programs Division (ACC A5/8Z). This specialized group collaborates with Combatant Commanders, Air Staff, program offices, industry partners, and various organizations to delineate the systems necessary for countering national threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical resource for logistics integration concerning Special Access Programs within ACC/A5/8Z.
  • Offer logistics guidance and support in areas such as concept development, requirements analysis, and planning.
  • Engage regularly with the Joint Staff, Air Staff, MAJCOMs, NAFs, OSD, and other governmental entities while executing responsibilities related to ACC/A5/8Z.
  • Assist leadership in budget planning, programming, testing, and validation of support equipment, as well as technical data for multiple SAP initiatives.
  • Provide expertise in developing protocols for handling and transporting critical assets, ensuring rapid and secure movement for testing, training, and operational missions.
  • Support the ACC/A5/8Z mission as the lead for multiple SAPs, participating in site activation working groups, munitions identification and disposition, service life assessments, and inventory recommendations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in ACC/A5/8Z events and conferences, averaging twenty (20) annually.
  • Represent ACC/A5/8Z at CAF requirements meetings and other SAP planning discussions.
  • Travel may be required up to 40% within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with thirteen (13) years of experience.
  • Additional years of experience or an Associate's degree may be considered.
  • Possession of a Level 1 Acquisition Logistics Certificate from the Defense Acquisition University.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience with Special Access Programs.
Required Clearance:
  • TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph is essential for continued employment.
  • US citizenship is required.
Required Skills:
  • Extensive background in military logistics operations.
  • Experience with air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient research skills with the capacity to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with 5th Generation fighter capabilities or a demonstrated understanding of their functionalities.
