Lead Tax Strategist, North America

Reporting Structure:
Director of U.S. Tax Compliance

Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Tax Strategist for North America, you will:
  • Oversee the preparation and review of income tax returns and related documentation for North America (U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead the process for U.S. Federal Consolidated Returns and international tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the International Tax Director on various international tax matters, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, and foreign tax credits.
  • Assist in the implementation of Country-by-Country Reporting and OECD Pillar 2 requirements.
  • Manage U.S. State tax filings, focusing on unitary and nexus combined returns.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with Tax Planning, Tax Reporting, Tax Technology, Transfer Pricing, and the Controller's Group.
  • Oversee quarterly estimated tax payments for North America.
  • Provide insights to the Tax Planning team regarding the implications of tax legislation.
  • Support tax compliance analysis for mergers, acquisitions, and internal restructuring.
  • Drive efficiency and standardization in compliance processes through tool integration.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with SOX and audit requirements.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting.
  • Proven expertise in reviewing U.S. Federal and State Corporate Tax Returns.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and effectively plan across the organization.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, MST, CPA).
  • Experience with Canadian and/or Puerto Rican Income Tax Returns.
  • Prior experience managing co-source providers.
  • Familiarity with Corptax, SAP, ONESTREAM, and ONESOURCE.
