Position Summary
The Lead Tax Consultant will report directly to the Director of International Tax and will play a pivotal role in managing tax compliance for North America, specifically focusing on the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation of North American income tax compliance by collaborating closely with co-source providers.
2. Conduct thorough reviews of income tax returns and related documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Support the Global Tax Reporting Team in preparing general ledger entries, account analyses, and reconciliations of tax accounts.
4. Maintain tax depreciation and amortization schedules for fixed and intangible assets across North America.
5. Address and resolve Federal and State income tax inquiries.
6. Identify and implement process improvements and automation for workpapers.
7. Assist in the preparation of various tax computations under the guidance of the Director of International Tax.
8. Review and ensure compliance with U.S. international tax returns.
9. Manage the execution of quarterly estimated tax payments for North America.
10. Participate in tax planning initiatives related to new or updated legislation.
Qualifications
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting.
3. Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal and State Corporate Tax Return preparation.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred:
1. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, MST, CPA).
2. Experience managing co-source providers.
3. Familiarity with Corptax, SAP, ONESTREAM, and ONESOURCE.
