Job Overview

Position Title: Industrial Engineer
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Marshall, Michigan
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing production processes within the manufacturing facility.
  • Perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis to pinpoint areas for process enhancement.
  • Gather and systematically document insights gained from daily production operations and ongoing improvement projects.
  • Design, update, and refine layout plans to boost production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead projects focused on continuous improvement to streamline personnel flow and logistics in the manufacturing area.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of optimization initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each process and staff member.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve productivity.
  • Analyze and assess process performance metrics to foster ongoing improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, particularly in the automotive battery manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in layout optimization and process enhancement.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in CAD software and process simulation applications.
  • Skilled in documentation and maintaining organized records.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and project management experience.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance.
  • Ability to engage professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent).

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to navigate work sites, including walking, standing, and climbing.
  • Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, especially when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
  • Able to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds, as some materials may be heavy.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier items may be necessary, depending on project demands.
  • Ability to work in various settings, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites, which may involve driving or other transportation methods.
