In response to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the automotive sector, Comrise is seeking several adept Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure excellence in quality management throughout the production process. This role is pivotal in liaising with suppliers, addressing quality challenges, and guaranteeing that all products adhere to our rigorous quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
• Production Site Quality Coordination:
o Supervise and facilitate the resolution of quality concerns on the production floor related to new materials and components.
• On-Site Quality Liaison:
o Serve as the main on-site contact for resolving material quality issues.
o Formulate and execute strategies to manage subpar incoming materials, taking into account manufacturing processes and customer feedback.
o Collaborate closely with suppliers to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and confirm effectiveness within designated timelines.
• Development of Containment Strategies:
o Contribute to the formulation and execution of containment strategies to handle non-conforming materials and maintain production flow.
• Management of APQP and PPAP Processes:
o Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to identify and mitigate risks during component development.
o Engage in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure that components satisfy all quality and performance standards prior to mass production.
• Support for Customer Audits:
o Aid relevant departments in preparing for and conducting customer audits.
o Ensure compliance with all quality standards and customer specifications during audit processes.
• Training for SQE Team:
o Responsible for educating the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team on quality protocols, procedures, and best practices for component quality.
o Ensure the team is proficient in managing supplier quality challenges and upholding high standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 3 years of experience in supplier quality management, particularly within the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with ISO9000, TS16949, and VDA quality management systems.
• Proficient in utilizing quality analysis and enhancement tools such as FMEA, FTA, 8D, Six Sigma, and SPC.
• Strong analytical skills and data processing capabilities.
• Proficient in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance.
• Capability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to navigate work environments, which may involve walking, standing, and climbing.
• Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, especially when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
• Capacity to lift and carry moderate weights, typically between 25-50 pounds.
• Occasional lifting of heavier items may be necessary.
• Ability to work in various settings, including offices and manufacturing facilities.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites as required.
