Position: Production Quality Engineer

Location: Marshall, MI (On-Site)

Job Overview:

In response to the evolving electric vehicle landscape within the automotive sector, Comrise is looking for several skilled and committed Production Quality Engineers to supervise the quality oversight and management of our manufacturing processes. This position entails executing quality assurance tasks, managing alterations in processes, resolving quality challenges, and fostering continuous enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


• Supervise and guarantee the quality oversight and management of manufacturing processes.


• Establish and assess quality control protocols to uphold superior standards.


• Ensure compliance of all quality-related activities with organizational standards and requirements.


• Oversee and coordinate quality activities such as SPC (Statistical Process Control), FAI (First Article Inspection), MES (Manufacturing Execution System) inspections, CTQ (Critical to Quality) management, FIFO (First In, First Out), error prevention, rework, and equipment qualification.


• Apply lessons learned and horizontal measures to avert the recurrence of quality issues.


• Assist in various process audits, including process audits and LPA (Layered Process Audit) audits.


• Conduct quality risk assessments and initiate quality improvement initiatives.


• Manage modifications in the manufacturing process and ensure effective execution of process response strategies.


• Collaborate with relevant teams to facilitate smooth process changes.


• Provide training and support to enhance the overall competency of the team.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production quality control or quality assurance, especially within the vehicle manufacturing sector.


• Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems and tools, including SPC, FAI, and MES.


• Proficient in utilizing quality analysis and improvement tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), 8D (8 Disciplines Problem Solving), Six Sigma, and SPC.


• Strong analytical and data processing skills.


• Proficient in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).


• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance.


• Capacity to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Physical Requirements:


• Ability to navigate work sites, which may involve walking, standing, and climbing.


• Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly during inspections or troubleshooting tasks.


• Capability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items.


• Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.


• Willingness and ability to travel to different job sites, which may require driving or other transportation methods.
