The AI-Enhanced Tables division is dedicated to the intelligent and automated configuration of customer tables, ensuring optimal price-performance and user-friendliness. By examining user behavior, we can pinpoint the most critical tables. Consequently, essential data is strategically colocated, indexed, and cached for maximum efficiency, while less frequently accessed data is archived and compressed to save costs. Importantly, this entire process occurs within an open data lakehouse utilizing an open table format, avoiding proprietary storage solutions.

Strategic Importance:

This initiative is vital for the success of Databricks. If executed effectively, it will revolutionize the data and AI landscape, addressing the common challenges customers face with complex configurations. Databricks is uniquely equipped to fulfill this vision, managing exabytes of data across a diverse customer base.

Your Role:

As the Product Manager for this team, you will oversee the entire suite of our AI-enhanced table solutions, which includes Predictive I/O, Predictive Optimization, Liquid Clustering, and our future development roadmap. You will be responsible for their success from inception to execution. Engaging with key customers will be essential to understand their configuration and tuning challenges. You will establish a vision for leveraging AI to alleviate these burdens and collaborate closely with engineering to bring these features to fruition. Identifying and resolving obstacles to adoption will be a critical part of your role, as will working with marketing to effectively launch these capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the vision for AI-enhanced tables, ensuring that customer data is both performant and user-friendly.
  • Conduct thorough customer research and data analysis to uncover significant AI optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with customers to gain insights into their data management challenges and requirements.
  • Promote the adoption of AI-enhanced offerings by defining and tracking objectives, addressing barriers to uptake, and refining features to enhance their appeal.
  • Work alongside engineering teams to define and deliver the next generation of AI-enhanced solutions.
  • Lead product launches in partnership with marketing through various channels, including blogs, release notes, webinars, and internal training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related fields, particularly with enterprise or SaaS products.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products and driving their adoption.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience with developer-facing products or similar roles is preferred.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and operationalization, including proficiency in SQL and Python.

Compensation:

Zone 2 Pay Range: $109,500 — $194,000 USD
