Job DescriptionThe Naval Nuclear Laboratory's Naval Reactors Facility Security Engineering team is responsible for maintaining the physical security of our site. Our team members conduct research on new equipment, develop preventative maintenance procedures, create work tasks, and work on computer systems and networks. We also support the design of new facilities and infrastructure, as well as interpret DOE manuals and orders as they apply to our site.
This position may require supporting the NRF site during non-standard hours through phone communications or by coming to the work location. Our security engineers work closely with Security Police officers, Facilities and Construction engineering, Instrumentation & Control technicians, NRF Locksmiths, and peers at other NNL locations.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 6 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 4 years of relevant experience
- Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified
- EDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program
- 3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only)
- SRE qualified and 6 years of experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but not required
- Experience with construction drawing sets
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Able to communicate effectively to all individuals within an organization

$92, $145,200.00 annually
