Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for preparing and documenting detailed drawings and plans for civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain detailed civil drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for site plans, grading plans, and utility layouts.
  • Document, interpret, and digitize various drawings from historical sources.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain organized project files.
  • Ensure that all drawings comply with site regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years post-high school studies or equivalent equating to 60 credit hours of college-level studies, including courses such as Civil Engineering technology, Surveying, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, strength of materials, and design and drafting techniques.
  • Two years of applicable drafting experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling/Management (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and 3D modeling.
