Job Description

Berkshire Systems Group Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and build of end-user projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and complete projects on time, within budget, and within scope
  • Control all aspects of projects, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring/summarizing the progress of the project
  • Periodically travel to client sites, which can range from public school buildings to small, medium, and enterprise-level businesses, to government entities which require stringent background clearances
  • Lead job kickoffs and site meetings
  • Prepare Scope of Work with the Sales team
  • Create project schedules and identify project milestones
  • Compile risk analyses and manage risk
  • Work in conjunction with Site-Superintendents to maintain project efficiency
  • Effectively communicate job status to end-user (customer) and/or contractor
  • Effectively communicate job status to internal stakeholders (Sales, Management, Engineering teams)
  • Mentor technicians directly and indirectly managed by PM
  • Create project cost and scheduling reports
  • Handle calls from customers
  • Schedule warranty calls with service department as needed throughout job life cycle
  • Answer customer questions regarding operation of system, technical issues, installation details, warranty matters, and monitoring queries
  • Direct customers to appropriate BSGI parties for assistance
  • Schedule final system checkouts with Inspections team
  • Verify all warranty dates
  • Ensure paperwork related to project is completed and entered in Sedona
  • Communicate need for customer training with BSGI Trainers at completion of project
  • Update schedule for field staff sick call-offs
  • Approve field staff vacation requests
  • Complete field staff performance reviews
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (Mechatronics, Electrical, Engineering) required
  • Five (5) years of experience in implementing or managing the installation of Electronic Security / Life Safety Systems, or related field required
  • At least two (2) years of experience supervising Commissioning Agents, Installers, Apprentices, and Subcontractors required
  • Strong knowledge of Life Safety industry fundamentals, NFPA requirements, building code and operations required
  • Solid subcontracting skills required
  • In-depth understanding of job financial reports and the ability control costs in the handling of large projects required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical (Mechatronics, Electrical, Engineering) capacity or applicable industry experience preferred
  • PMP Certification a plus
