Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Case File Management: Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive case files for defendants released on bond, including specialized conditions such as drug testing and substance abuse education.
  • Defendant Verification: Verify defendant information, including home address, attorney, and personal references, to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Case Status Updates: Review official documents and online databases to determine changes in case status and update records accordingly.
  • Correspondence and Reporting: Prepare and submit correspondence to criminal courts and reports on bond violations, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Defendant Communication: Inform defendants, attorneys, and court personnel of changes in case or defendant status, maintaining effective relationships and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintain accurate log files of defendants released or denied bond, providing valuable insights for management and decision-making.
  • Customer Service: Respond to telephone inquiries from defendants, attorneys, court personnel, and the general public, providing accurate and helpful information.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three (3) years' experience in a legal setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of court procedures, basic legal terminology, and ability to accurately enter data, organize information, and maintain filing systems.
  • Physical and Environmental Demands: Ability to work in a jail environment, occasionally move items weighing up to 10-15 pounds, and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
Working Conditions

Working conditions are primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to a jail environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintain accurate records, and provide excellent customer service.
