Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of combined experience required in both the Critical Care setting and one other specialty (e.g. Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC or Emergency).
- 5 years of experience preferred.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact required.
- PALS required within 30 days of hire at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital or SPOHN.
- De-escalation training is required within 30 days of hire at SPOHN.
