Medical Assistant

Key Responsibilities
Gather vital signs from patients and complete office visit forms for physician review and patient files.
Collect, prepare, and send laboratory specimens for routine tests, recording results under direct supervision of the provider.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including injections and immunizations, and instruct patients on proper follow-up procedures under supervision of the provider.
Maintain supply stock in exam rooms and lab areas, documenting usage to ensure timely replenishment.
Audit provider charts for completeness and signatures.
Set up and clean medical equipment, ensuring red bags are emptied and prepared for pickup.
Perform laboratory procedures under direct supervision of the provider.
Requirements
High school diploma required.
EMT or CNA certification preferred.
One year on-the-job training in a medical provider office, with successful completion of NCHC competency training within 90 days.
Diploma of completion of education or training as a medical assistant or related field recognized by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), with preferred certification or registration by the National Organization.
