Summary:
Turning Point, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Program Assistant Manager to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Program Manager in overseeing the care and supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injuries in residential settings. The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and rights of the individuals served while implementing their Individual Service Plans (ISP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Program Manager in creating a secure environment, ensuring the rights and safety of individuals in a licensed residential setting.
- Ensure all staff adhere to agency policies, ISP goals, and case management responsibilities, including timely documentation.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, household tasks, cooking, shopping, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager in menu planning to meet dietary needs and ensure compliance with physician recommendations.
- Facilitate transportation for individuals to medical, dental, psychiatric, and other appointments as directed.
- Implement behavior plans and maintain necessary data collection, while guiding staff in executing these plans effectively.
- Complete all required documentation promptly, including communication logs, shift notes, incident reports, and medication administration records.
- Lead efforts to ensure staff compliance with operational policies and procedures as directed by the Program Manager.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff, clarifying program policies and procedures.
- Engage positively with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in monthly team meetings and required training sessions.
- Maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, MAP, and PABC as applicable.
- Oversee medication management responsibilities, ensuring proper documentation and collaboration with the Program Nurse.
- Monitor financial practices within the program, ensuring accountability and compliance with financial policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required; Associate's Degree or ongoing education preferred.
- Minimum of five years of direct support experience in residential settings with individuals with developmental disabilities or traumatic brain injuries.
- Familiarity with behavior plans and strategies relevant to the population served.
- Experience in staff training or leadership roles is advantageous.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, MAP, Human Rights Advocacy, and PABC as required.
- Successful completion of background checks prior to employment.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including mobility and lifting.
- Capability to drive a passenger van for resident transportation.
