Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a Contract Senior FP&A Analyst to deliver strategic financial insights and assist in the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical functions. This role demands exceptional analytical capabilities, business insight, and the ability to convey intricate financial information to various stakeholders within the organization. The Senior FP&A Analyst will work collaboratively with multiple departments to enhance financial performance and facilitate informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Planning and Forecasting:
    • Oversee the creation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
    • Conduct variance analysis to assess actual outcomes against budget and forecast, offering insights and suggestions for enhancements.
    • Engage with business units to collect data, comprehend assumptions, and guarantee precise financial projections.
  2. Financial Analysis:
    • Execute comprehensive financial analyses, including profitability assessments, cost evaluations, and scenario modeling to support strategic objectives.
    • Examine key financial metrics and KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Prepare and deliver financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and executive teams.
  3. Business Partnering:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, Marketing) to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
    • Assist in evaluating business performance, pinpointing areas for cost optimization, and driving profitability enhancements.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, offering insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis activities.
    • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support forecasting, budgeting, and analytical processes.
    • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by the CFO / Controller.
  5. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in financial reporting and analysis.
    • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial planning and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related roles, with a robust background in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion). Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Capability to lead projects, mentor junior analysts, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, financial performance drivers, and industry trends.
