Position Overview

The M1 Abrams Tank serves as a crucial component of our armored forces. It requires a meticulous and skilled individual to ensure these vehicles maintain operational readiness.

Role Responsibilities
As a Tank Systems Maintenance Technician in the Army National Guard, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising and executing maintenance tasks on M1 Abrams Tanks.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic malfunctions.
  • Conducting organizational maintenance and direct support tasks on various systems, including:
    • Suspension systems
    • Steering systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Auxiliary power units
    • Fire suppression systems
    • Gas particulate systems
  • Performing maintenance on vehicular mounted armament and fire control systems.

Skills Development
Throughout your training, you will acquire essential skills, including:
  • Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles.
  • Proficiency in using electronic, electrical, and mechanical testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must:
