Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to oversee Banquet Catering, Concessions, and daily operations at our convention center. The successful candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute menus for Banquet Catering and Concessions Programs.
  • Maintain the highest level of food quality through effective team management.
  • Ensure timely and efficient food production, while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement menu ideas, staying current with industry trends and events.
  • Manage inventory, pricing, and staffing levels for all concessions events, while maintaining a balanced budget.
  • Lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Plan and execute large-scale food production, ensuring high-quality products and efficient operations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of needed paper goods and food items, working closely with the Executive Chef and Purchasing Manager.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with logistical planning and execution of events, as directed.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a lead culinary role, preferably in Sports & Entertainment, Large Scale Events, or Stadium Catering.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internal and external email communications, and purchasing procedures.
  • Knowledge of budget management, labor, and food costs.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA.
  • Proven leadership skills and the motivation to step up and run the kitchen when the Executive Chef is not onsite.
Specialized Qualifications:
  • Must be a natural leader, with a passion for creativity, customer satisfaction, and flavor profiles.
  • Must be a chef who thrives on innovation, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Present oneself in a manner consistent with professional appearance, good personal hygiene, and respectful conduct to all external and internal customers/contacts at all times.
  • Exhibit cooking skills, knowledge, and food handling skills consistent with contemporary training and requirements of similar positions in the industry.
Work Environment:

This role will mainly work out of our convention center, with some physical work required, including organization, event setup, and conducting inventory in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces, and traveling to different venues across greater Atlanta.
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items across uneven ground.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting approximately 40 lbs.
