Key Responsibilities:

The Executive Chef serves as a pivotal operations manager, dedicated to upholding the mission, vision, and values of Hawkers Asian Street Food. This role involves overseeing all culinary operations, managing a team of Sous Chefs and kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Maintaining high food quality standards across all restaurant operations.
  • Overseeing all aspects of food procurement, production, and service, including inventory management, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Providing constructive feedback to kitchen staff and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with recipes and procedures as outlined by the company.
  • Achieving target ticket times while maintaining exceptional food quality.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and storage areas in pristine condition.
  • Conducting regular reviews of food safety, sanitation, and facility standards.
  • Training and developing team members to meet established culinary standards.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation practices through effective training and supervision.
  • Assisting the General Manager in achieving sales and profitability goals.
  • Maintaining safe working conditions in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Performing duties across various kitchen positions and training staff accordingly.
  • Conducting formal evaluations and providing coaching to team members.
  • Utilizing the Daily Shift Card effectively for operational management.
  • Addressing issues promptly and responsibly, especially in disciplinary matters.
  • Obtaining Food Handlers Certification in line with compliance standards.
  • Having 1-2 years of experience in a similar culinary role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write in English for effective communication and documentation.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as keyboarding.
  • Capability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach overhead frequently.
  • Comfortable working in environments with extreme temperatures.
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
