Key Responsibilities:


At Fast Pace Health, the Healthcare Support Specialist provides essential clinical and administrative assistance necessary for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Primary Care Provider.

They deliver outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming environment while responding promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or treatment responses.

The Healthcare Support Specialist will ensure excellent customer service for all internal and external stakeholders by utilizing comprehensive knowledge and effective communication with team members.


What You Will Do:

Clinical Duties:
Assess patients by checking and documenting vital signs, collecting and recording relevant clinical history and all necessary information for accurate charting in the EMS

Prepare examination and treatment areas for patient intake

Assist primary care providers in patient evaluations, examinations, and minor procedures

Monitor patients, documenting and reporting changes in their conditions, such as adverse reactions to medications or treatments, and taking appropriate actions

Conduct laboratory tests and phlebotomy, handling and labeling specimens for laboratory and pathology testing

Provide wound care and suture removal as required

Administer federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and drug screening exams

Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality during procedures

Maintain friendly and cordial relationships with all staff, building and sustaining trust and credibility

Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures

Administrative Duties:
Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedule referrals.

Maintain and update patient records

Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments

Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar

May perform as a Scribe as necessary

Assist providers with proper patient follow-ups, including conducting follow-up calls within 1-2 days of treatment and responding to messages on the same day of receipt

Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triage urgent messages to primary care providers

Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications as required.

Responsible for understanding compliance aspects within the company by completing all mandatory training

Maintain knowledge of primary care, patient-centered medical home, and value-based care to promote and advocate for services

Non-Essential Functions:
Assist with urgent care activities as primary care schedules allow

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Experience Requirements and Preferences::

A minimum of 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care environment

Education Requirements::

High School Diploma or its equivalent
