Job Summary:

Guthrie is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access/Financial Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access and financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients on our computer system, collecting demographics and insurance information, and facilitating their transition to the required department.
  • Verify insurance coverage for all patients, including SNF admissions, and ensure accurate billing charges.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure a positive experience.
  • Process medical assistance applications, renewals, and other financial documents.
  • Manage patient payments, balance cash drawers, and handle petty cash transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Area Agency on Aging to facilitate medical assistance applications for community transfers.
  • Update the SNF contracted pharmacy with admissions, discharges, payor status, and hospice admissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including contacting on-call personnel, responding to emergencies, and maintaining patient belongings.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in data entry.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay Range: $22.37/hour
