Job Overview

SUMMARY

Deliver expert technical assistance on MPT process technologies within the domain of process engineering. Facilitate technical guidance and training for personnel across various disciplines to enhance product design and operational efficiency. Actively participate in quality enhancement initiatives and serve as the primary technical liaison for R&D projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively prioritize, organize, and complete daily tasks to address the dynamic needs of both external and internal clients.
  • Generate precise calculations, including non-standard ones, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), proposal estimates, and specifications within set timelines and budgets.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries with technically sound solutions.
  • Perform calculations for material and heat balance data relevant to the specified technology.
  • Determine flow requirements and appropriately size piping and pumps in line with industry standards, MPT guidelines, and customer specifications.
  • Complete process and materials data on equipment datasheets.
  • Create Process Flow Diagrams for the designated technology.
  • Conduct walk-downs of P&IDs for technologies manufactured by Merichem.
  • Validate calculations, material and heat balance data, equipment sizing, and datasheet information prepared by fellow Process Engineers.
  • Utilize specified software, models, and spreadsheets for sizing proprietary equipment.
  • Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for the designated technology.
  • Assist Principal and Senior Process Engineers in delivering assigned project outputs.
  • Meet individual performance objectives established by the Supervisor.
  • Continuously enhance our commitment to excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security practices.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in a refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, E&C company, or a related field is required.
  • Familiarity with specialized software such as Promax, ChemCad, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • An engineering background in a refinery or petrochemical setting, with knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and basic engineering package development is preferred.
  • Experience in process simulation is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to collect data, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Capable of working effectively in a team environment, providing support across various departments and organizational levels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

EXPECTED WORK HOURS

  • Must be able to work a standard schedule and additional hours as required by job responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to travel 20% or more, both domestically and internationally.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Must be insurable under the company's liability insurance policy.
