Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our Surgery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supporting veterinarians, and educating clients on pet health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and advocate for pets
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options
- Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
Experience & Skills Requirements
- On-call and overtime availability
- Surgery experience required
- Enjoy being a key player on a dynamic team providing the highest standard of patient care
- Are comfortable caring for dogs and cats, or any other animal that may need emergency or urgent care
