Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician

Marina Veterinary Center is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a modern veterinary hospital, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. Our state-of-the-art facility and equipment enable us to deliver high-quality services, including surgical, dental care, and chemotherapy.

Job Summary:

The Registered Veterinary Technician will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our hospital. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with patient care and treatment, monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, preparing prescriptions, performing routine in-house lab work, educating clients on veterinary care, and assisting with anesthetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in exams and patient restraint
  • Maintain accurate and clear medical records
  • Perform catheter placement and phlebotomy
  • Complete laboratory diagnostics as needed
  • Perform wound care
  • Anesthetize and monitor patients under a veterinarian's supervision
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and dental imaging
  • Ensure safety and legal compliance
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
  • Handle stressed or ill pets confidently
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment
  • Excel in collaborative problem-solving
  • Accurately deliver client education on veterinary care
  • Support team and train new employees
  • Pursue continuing education
Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least 1 year of RVT experience
  • Confidence with anesthesia monitoring, dental assisting, and pre/post op care
  • RVT, LVT, or CVT certification required
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and calculations
  • Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion
  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
Available Schedule:

Full-time position, must be open to working Saturdays

  • We are open: Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm
  • Closed Sundays
