Expanded Learning Safety Coordinator

The Expanded Learning Program Front Desk & Safety Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff during the Expanded Learning Program. This position is responsible for monitoring student release, assessing school safety, and implementing safety protocols to prevent trespassers on site and unauthorized adult pickups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor student release and sign-out procedures to ensure authorized adults are picking up students.
- Conduct daily safety rounds to ensure all gates and doors are secured during transition times.
- Assist the Program Coordinator with safety incidents, crises, and drills, and communicate with the district and agency as needed.
- Monitor sign-in and sign-out sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Serve as a resource to staff, students, and community members by maintaining a fully stocked front desk.
- Engage with parents and families daily to build strong relationships and ensure a positive experience.
- Experience working with youth who require redirection and additional disciplinary support.
- Ability to problem-solve and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to redirect and review expectations and rules with large groups of students with varying development levels.
