Job Title: Expanded Learning Program Front Desk & Safety Lead

The Expanded Learning Program Front Desk & Safety Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of students and staff during the Expanded Learning Program. This position is responsible for monitoring student release, assessing school safety, and implementing safety and security protocols to prevent trespassers on site and ensure students are released only to authorized adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student release and assess school safety at all times during the Expanded Learning Program
  • Implement safety and security protocols to prevent trespassers on site and ensure students are released only to authorized adults
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with safety incidents, crises, and drills as they arise
  • Monitor sign-in and sign-out procedures to ensure adults are on authorized sign-out lists
  • Serve as a resource to staff, students, and community members by ensuring the front desk is fully stocked
  • Engage with parents on a daily basis and build strong relationships with families and community members
  • Ensure sign-in and out sheets are completed correctly and completely by staff and parents/families
  • Ensure school site and student safety during program hours

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
  • Pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
  • Ability to work every day during after-school hours and commit to an academic school year
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate openly in a professional manner with program coordinator, students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school-day staff
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and strict deadlines
