Job Title: Expanded Learning Program Front Desk & Safety Lead

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Expanded Learning Program Front Desk & Safety Lead. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students and staff during the Expanded Learning Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor student release and assess school safety at all times during the Expanded Learning Program.
  • Follow safety and security protocols of the agency and the school site to ensure there are no trespassers on site and that students are released only to authorized adults.
  • Commitment to continuous youth development and connection to our communities and families are our top priorities.
  • Assist Program Coordinator with all safety incidents, crises, and drills as they come up and help support with communicating with the district and agency.
  • Monitor sign in and sign out procedures, ensuring adults are on authorized sign out lists.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, students, and community by ensuring the front desk is fully stocked.
  • Engage with parents on a daily basis and build strong relationships with families and community members.
  • Experience working with youth that requires re-direction and additional disciplinary support.
  • Ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to redirect and review expectations and rules with large groups of students with various development levels.
  • Oversee and execute emergency response plans (evacuation, shelter in place, lockdown, medical emergencies, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or a High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam.
  • Must pass criminal background check and TB test clearance.
  • Must meet be able to work every day during after school hours and commit to an academic school year.
  • Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with program coordinator, students, parents, community partners, and after school and school day staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
Benefits:
  • Pay rate: $28 per hour DOE.
  • Hours per week: 30 hours, plus PD.
  • 16 paid holidays.
